DAV Under-13 Football Team Secures Runner-up Position at 4th NIST Cup Football Tournament, 2026

The DAV Under-13 Football Team proudly secured the runner-up position at the 4th NIST Cup Football Tournament held in February 2026. The tournament, conducted in a league-cum-knockout format, featured participation from nine schools across the Kathmandu Valley.
In the group stage, DAV began their campaign with a 3–1 victory over Nawasuntka School, followed by a 3–0 win against Nalanda School. They faced a 1–3 defeat against NIST School in their third match but bounced back with a 3–1 victory over Chankya School.
In the semifinals, DAV clashed with Gateway School, ending regular time in a 2–2 draw. DAV triumphed in the penalty shootout, winning 3–2, with Shriyansh Pathak earning the Player of the Match award.
The final saw DAV face the host, NIST School. Both teams scored one goal each during regular time, but DAV narrowly lost 3–2 in the penalty shootout, finishing as runners-up. Despite the defeat, Sudip Budhathoki of DAVSKVB was named Player of the Match.
On 27th February, during the morning assembly of the Middle School, all players and the team coach were felicitated and congratulated in the presence of Middle School Coordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi and Head of the Physical Education and Sports Department Mr. Purnendu Ghosh.
