The award ceremony of the 2nd Sushil Kedia Memorial Inter-School Badminton Tournament 2025 was held in Indu Hall on 17th August.
Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, in the presence of Head of Sports Department Mr. Purnendu Ghosh, honoured all the winners with trophies, medals and merit certificates. He congratulated the winners and extended best wishes to all participants, praising the sportsmanship and discipline shown by students from 12 participating schools. The tournament was officiated by five referees, officials and technical personnel associated with the Nepal Badminton Association.
Nepal Police School emerged as the overall team champions and lifted the Champion’s Trophy. St. Mary’s School secured second place, while Kendriya Vidyalaya claimed third. These schools were also recognised with trophies, medals and merit certificates.
Individual awards were presented to outstanding players. Sumir Dhakal of DAV School was named Best Player in the boys’ category, while Nikita Yadav of St. Xavier’s School received the same honour in the girls’ category. The Rising Player Award went to Ayush Poudel of DAV School in the boys’ category and to Bijal Khatri of St. Mary’s School in the girls’ category.
In the boys’ under-12 category, Rashis Jung Shiwakoti and Shrieesh Subedi of Nepal Police School won first and second place respectively. Nandu Raj Ishar of Bright Future School and Kush Rijal of St. Xavier’s School shared third place. In the girls’ under-12 category, Yumika Sampang Rai of St. Mary’s School secured first place, followed by Nayima Budhayer of Bright Future Secondary School in second. Archana Magar and Bidushi Gyawali of Galaxy Public School shared third place.
In the boys’ under-14 category, Samyam Bhandari of Nepal Police School came first, while Aarav Shakya of Ideal Model School finished second. Third place was shared by Aayush Kushwaha of Modern Indian School and Samriddha Karki of St. Xavier’s School. In the girls’ under-14 category, first place went to Shivalika Rai of St. Mary’s School, and second to Yushna Maharjan of DAV School. Third place was shared by Irada Timsina of Deerwalk Sifal School and Yojana Magar of Galaxy Public School.
In the boys’ under-16 category, Ishan Giri of Nepal Police School secured first place, with Rayan Nath of Modern Indian School in second. Third place was shared by Harshvardhan Rathi of DAV School and Pranav Acharya of GEMS. In the girls’ under-16 category, Devangee Deka and Ananya Deka of Kendriya Vidyalaya claimed first and second place respectively, while third place was shared by Smriti Yadav of St. Xavier’s School and Sadichhya Sharma of DAV School.
