DAV Crowned Cricket Champions

DAV clinched the title of the first RRA Running Shield Cricket Tournament on Thursday (15th August, 2025), defeating LRI by 51 runs. The match was held at the ground of the organiser, Radiant Readers Academy. The champions, DAV, received a cash prize of Rs. 30,000, while the runners-up, LRI, took home Rs. 15,000.
Batting first, DAV scored 84 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. Prashiddha Jaisi contributed 37 runs off 13 balls, while Farhan Ansari added 11 runs from 6 balls. LRI’s captain, Abhi Thapaliya, took 3 wickets.
In reply, LRI were all out for just 33 runs in 9.4 overs. Abhi was the top scorer with 6 runs. For DAV, Prashiddha Jaisi took 3 wickets, while Kamal Shahi claimed 2.
Prashiddha was named Player of the Tournament, having scored 135 runs and taken 8 wickets. He was also awarded Best Batter. LRI’s Abhi Thapaliya was recognised as Best Bowler.
The winners were awarded by Roshan Singh, Vice President of the Cricket Association of Nepal; DK Dhungana, Founder Principal of Radiant Readers and other dignitaries. The tournament featured 15 teams, including two from the organiser, competing in a combination of league and knockout format.
