
Shrawan Celebration, 2082 at DAV School

DAV School celebrated the auspicious month of Shrawan with a vibrant cultural programme on 4th August 2082, honouring its female teaching staff and embracing one of Nepal’s cherished traditions. The event highlighted the spiritual and cultural essence of Shrawan and featured a series of engaging and joyful activities.
The programme was graced by the esteemed presence of the First Lady, Shreemati Sunita Kedia, as the Chief Guest. She was warmly welcomed by Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Vijaya Tater, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, and the entire teaching fraternity.
The celebration commenced with a traditional welcome of the First Lady, including the offering of a bouquet and khada, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Ms. Renu B.C., Head of the Mentorship Team, formally welcomed the guests and participants with a heartfelt speech.
The day was filled with an array of cultural performances. Teachers showcased their talents through solo dances and ramp walk competitions, while groups from the Kindergarten, Junior School, and Middle School mesmerised the audience with their energetic dance presentations. Prior to the main event, a Mehandi Art Competition was organised in Pratik Hall, drawing participation from 57 female teachers.
The Shrawan Celebration was conceptualized by the Principal, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, with the vision of strengthening the cultural bond among teachers and aligning with the school’s core theme as highlighted by Ms. Renu B.C.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anamika Limbu, Junior School Management Representative. Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal expressed sincere gratitude to the First Lady for her gracious presence and lauded the teachers for their enthusiastic participation. He also reflected on the deeper value of such cultural observances in fostering community and connection.
