DAV to Continue ‘Fight Back’ Training for Grade V to IX Girls

Date: Jul 7th, 2025

DAV Chairperson, Shree Anil Kedia, in the presence of the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao and representatives from Fight Back Nepal, officially announced the continuation of the Fight Back Training Programme for Grade V to IX girls on 2nd July, 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Chairperson remarked that this empowering initiative was first launched at DAV a decade ago. He noted that the programme has since been instrumental in equipping girls with essential skills to defend themselves against harassment, violence, and inappropriate behaviour that sadly still persist in society.
The Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao emphasised that the Fight Back Training is a joint endeavour between DAV School and Fight Back Nepal. She stressed the importance of raising awareness about such training, particularly in societies where many girls remain silent about the challenges they face, even within their own families and teachers. The programme, she affirmed, not only builds confidence but also prepares the girls to respond effectively when necessary.
Representing Fight Back Nepal, Mr. Bikrant Pandey outlined the structure of the mental, vocal, and physical self-defense training designed for the 2025/26 academic year. He engaged with the attending teachers, aiming to tailor a specialized curriculum that aligns with the needs and expectations of DAV girls.
The session was attended by the entire middle school teaching team, marking a continued commitment to student safety and empowerment.
