Internal Teachers Training, 2024

The Human Resource Department, with the approval of the School Management, initiated a comprehensive internal Teachers' Training programme for the faculty of DAV School in December, 2024.
This initiative was designed to fulfill the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) requirement, which mandates that teachers complete 50 credit hours of professional training annually. Of these, 25 credit hours are dedicated to internal training, leveraging the school’s own resources. Faculty members are further encouraged to participate in online courses or workshops focusing on personal and professional development to meet the required hours. The remaining 25 credit hours are allocated for external training, facilitated by resource persons invited from outside the school.
Internal Training Sessions
The internal training sessions were conducted department-wise, as outlined by HR Manager, Mr. Rai. The training for December session, 2024 were as follows:
7th December 2024:
Teachers from the English, Nepali, Hindi, and Commerce departments attended a five-hour training session, held from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Heads of Departments (HODs) facilitated the sessions, with Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal contributing as a resource person for the Nepali department.

14th December 2024:
Faculty from the Science, Social Studies, Health and Population Environment, and Physical Education departments participated in a similar session. These sessions were also led by the respective HODs.

21st December 2024:
Teachers from Mathematics, Computer Science, Vocational Studies, Foreign Language, Art and Craft, Music, and Dance departments completed their five-hour training session facilitated by the respective HODs.

The training sessions were designed to address key areas, such as innovative teaching methodologies, stress management for both educators and students, and tackling diverse pedagogical challenges. Furthermore, the sessions incorporated interactive discussions, enabling feedback collection to identify and bridge gaps, ultimately improving teaching practices.
External Training Plan
In addition to the internal programme, the school has scheduled external training sessions for January or February, 2025. These sessions will focus on school and career counseling, offering faculty valuable insights to further enhance their professional capabilities.
Previous Initiatives
In alignment with CBSE standards, the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, had previously organised a series of workshops and training sessions from the beginning of the session. These sessions were tailored for teachers at various levels—Kindergarten, Junior School, Middle School, and Senior School—as well as for subject-specific groups and the entire teaching staff. These initiatives aimed to keep educators abreast of the latest teaching trends and methodologies required by the CBSE.
Similarly, the Education Department of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Office under the support of Ministry of Education had conducted additional teachers training sessions as mandated by the NEB.
