Family Jamboree of Grade IX-2024

DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School hosted a delightful Family Jamboree for Grade IX families on 26th November. The event, held in the state-of-the-art Buddha Hall, featured a variety of cultural performances and activities, celebrating togetherness and talent.
The programme began with a soulful rendition of the Sufi song Saiyyan, followed by a warm welcome to the School’s Patron, Shree Anil Kedia, and a special guest Mr. Min Prashad Khanal, an officer at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Tribhuvan International Airport. The traditional lighting of the lamp and the singing of the national anthem set an auspicious tone for the day.
The event's highlights included vibrant performances such as Bharatanatyam, a Nepali cultural Sherpa dance, Kathak, and a colourful Mexican dance. Parents added to the joy with a fun-filled game competition, bringing excitement to the atmosphere. A thematic Halloween dance performance captivated the audience with its creativity and storytelling.
In the parents' game competition, Ms. Archana Deo secured the first position, followed by Ms. Ruma Shrestha in second place and Ms. Sudha Singh in third. Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, alongside Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, honoured the winners during the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Patron Shree Kedia delivered an inspiring speech, praising the school’s efforts in promoting cultural diversity and family bonding. He expressed delight at the students' exceptional talents, noting that many guests were amazed by their performances and even wondered whether professional artists had been invited. Shree Kedia congratulated the Principal, dance and music teachers, and students for their hard work and dedication.
In a special emphasis, he noted that, DAV School integrates education with culture, highlighting the importance of discipline, perseverance, and tolerance in life. He encouraged Grade IX parents to foster an environment that supports academic excellence at least over the next 5–6 years, aligning with global standards. He further stressed the significance of technical education and competitive exams, urging parents to prepare their children for a future where technical expertise is essential.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, followed by energetic performances of English song and Bollywood dances, leaving everyone with joyful memories.
The Family Jamboree programme was conceptualised by the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, who has been actively guiding teachers and students in dance, music, theatre, and other forms of art to achieve holistic learning. The event was meticulously planned under the school’s theme ''EACH'' for the 2024–25 session.
Vice Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, along with SSO Wing Co-ordinators, HODs and teachers were present to extend generous hospitality and warm welcome to all the invited guests. The moderators of the programme were Senior School teachers Ms. Pratikshya Nepali, Mr. Shovan Bhandari, Ms. Diksha Koirala, and Ms. Kamana Adhikari.
