1st Sushil Kedia Memorial Inter School Basketball Tournament

DAV School organised 1st Late Sushil Kedia Memorial Inter School Basketball Tournament on the auspicious occasion of 57th Birth Anniversary of Late Shree Sushil Kedia on 30th and 31st August 2024.
A total of ten schools from the Kathmandu Valley took part in the tournament. The participating schools included Campion School, Canvas School, DAVSKVB School, Graded English Medium School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Milestone School, Modern Indian School, Rai International School, St. Xavier's School, and VS Niketan School.
Three teams represented DAV School. In the boys' category, ten schools competed, while the girls' category featured five schools.
The tournament was officiated by representatives from the Nepal Basketball Association: Bibhu K.C., Rabi Paudel, Sujan Maharjan, and Sanjeev Lama.
In the boys' category, St. Xavier's School, Jawalakhel emerged victorious, with Campion School securing the runner-up position. In the girls' category, Modern Indian School claimed the championship, followed by St. Xavier's School as the runner-up.
The special awards were also presented during the closing ceremony. Shuvam Sainju from St. Xavier's School received the Highest Scorer Award in the boys' category, while Rohisha Gurung from Modern Indian School won the same honour in the girls' category.
Additionally, Prarambha Tamrakar from Campion School was honoured with the Emerging Player Award in the boys' category, with Drishya Neupane from Modern Indian School earning the title in the girls' category.
The awards were presented following the final matches by Middle School Co-ordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi, in the presence of Sports HoD Mr. Purnendu Ghosh and Senior School Activity In-charge Mr. Tankanath Ghimire.
The tournament was officially opened by Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, accompanied by Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji. During the event, DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia and the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao visited the basketball court, adding an extra touch of elegance and excitement to the atmosphere.
