DAV PAID TRIBUTE TO MELODY QUEEN LATA MANGESHKAR
DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School paid a Tribute to Melody Queen Lata Mangeshkar in the School premises today (March 4).
The programme started with Sanskrit Chanting and then the auditorium observed silence to pay homage to the departed souls.
Addressing the august gathering, Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia remembered Lata Mangeshkar and her song from his childhood and said the honour given to Lata Mangeshkar during her life and even after her departure in India and also in other parts of the world shows how she has been able to live in our heart and minds.
The Chairperson added,' singing the songs of Lata Mangeshkar has been the part of life for our generation and also to the younger generation than us'.
He presented a duet song with singer Babita Manandhar all dedicated to Lt. Lata Mangeshkar .
Before, the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao presented a welcome speech and honoured Lt. Lata Mangeshkar as a Saraswati. The Principal believed in the simplicity, geography, and country free life and a debate free life of Lata Mangeshkar and wished to see mankind inspired with her all the pious works.
In fact, celebrated educators and artists have taken Lata Mangeshkar as a Music Encyclopedia and a philosophy of life.
Among them, Singer Ms. Manila Sotang, also known as Nepali Lata Mangeshkar who was also Chief Guest of the Programme said she was raised singing the songs of Lata Mangeshkar and her name in Music industry is because of her inspirations.
She presented the melodious songs dedicated to Lata Mangeshkar and also presented a duet song with Singer Babita.
On the occasion, Singer Babita Manandhar remembered how she met Lata Mangeshkar all of a sudden during her India visit.
According to Manandhar, Meeting with Lata has been the happiest moment in her life which she had never imagined before. She also shared how Lata cared and listened to her during the moment. She also presented beautiful songs in the memory of Lata Mangeshkar.
Meanwhile, junior school students presented Ballet Dance, middle school students presented Nepali- Hindi Fusion Dance and Senior School Students presented Thematic Dance which was all dedicated to Lata Mangeshkar.
Similarly, Music HoD of DAV Mr. Jay Shrivastava and English Teacher Ms. Sashilta Rai presented a duet song.
In addition, the students of Senior School Arika Chaudhary Grade IX and Sumit Shrivastava Grade XI presented a Nepali song.
The programme was graced by First Lady Ms. Sunita Kedia.
Similarly, celebrated industrialists and portfolio holders associated with Nepal India Friendship Society, Indian Citizen Association Nepal, Ekal Vidyala among others added elegance to the programme.
All the Members of School and College Management Committee were present to extend hospitality to all the parents and guests.
During the programme, the members of the Music and Dance Department of DAV, Senior Musician Mr. Raju Singh were highly acknowledged for the successful presentations.
Hindi HoD Mr. Purushottam Pokhrel was the moderator of the programme.
To end, the entire programme planned by the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao has provided a platform for all of us to express condolence to the legendry singer Lata Mangeshkar and inspired us to understand the beauty of life with love, dedication, and hard work for the betterment of future generation.
