Winners of English Week Get Invitation to the University Stage at the Closing Ceremony of English Week, 2026

The weeklong celebration of language, creativity, confidence, and expression came to a memorable close with the much awaited Award Ceremony. More than just a celebration of English, the week gave students a wonderful opportunity to express themselves, discover their talents, and learn with joy.
The moderators of the closing ceremony was Club President Slesha Acharya and Elegance Bastakoti. The programme began with a warm Welcome Speech by Head of Department Ms. Asha Khadka, setting a cheerful and welcoming tone for the occasion.
The ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Balaram Adhikari, Vice-President of the Translators’ Society of Nepal and Secretary of the Multilingual Literary Society, Nepal, Guest of Honour Patron Shree Anil Kedia and Special Guests- Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater.
The stage soon came alive with the energy and imagination of the students. Their skits, biography speeches, poetry recitations, and special musical poetry presentation reflected not only their talent but also the confidence they had developed throughout the week. Each performance brought its own charm and reminded everyone that learning becomes more meaningful when students are given the freedom to express themselves.
One of the most joyful moments of the ceremony was the recognition of student achievements. A total of 112 students were honoured with medals and certificates for their participation and excellence in various competitions. Students were recognised for class activities such as Calligraphy, Movie Review, and Diary Entry, as well as for securing the first, second, and third positions in the Skit, Poetry, and Biography Speech competitions.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Balaram Adhikari shared his delight at being part of English Week. He warmly praised the students for their confidence, creativity, and impressive performances. He expressed his wish to present such inspiring young talents to the university students he currently teaches. Recalling that he had attended a live programme of this kind after a long time, he appreciated the students’ skits, poetry, and biography speeches and wished them continued success in their learning journey. He also spoke about the translation profession in Nepal and encouraged students who may wish to explore this field in the future.
The spirit of English Week was visible from its very first day. The Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao attended the Inter-House Skit Competition and spoke about the importance of such activities in helping students develop their language skills, creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence. She expressed her happiness at seeing English Week grow and become better each year and extended her best wishes to all the participants.
The ceremony ended on a warm and grateful note with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Pranav Jha, Vice-president of the William Wordsworth English Club.
