Principal Launches 4 New Awards in Different Discipline: DAV to Announce 14 Departmental (Subject-wise) Awards Soon
The toppers of the Final Examination 2025–26 in the Middle School were felicitated with the prestigious Limelight Scholars Award in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements in the morning assembly yesterday (5th May, 2026).
A total of 13 students from Grade V, 16 from Grade VI, 15 from Grade VII, and 5 from Grade VIII received the honour. The number of awardees is expected to rise further following the announcement of the Grade VIII SEE BLE results.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal highlighted the wide spectrum of awards available to students and encouraged them to take initiative. She remarked, “My aspiration is to help you understand that there are numerous awards, many of which you can achieve through your own efforts by applying for them.”
Since its establishment, the institution has set a remarkable benchmark through its Positive Motivation Programmes, aimed at shaping students into Total Quality Persons (TQP) with balanced intellectual and emotional development.
During the ceremony, the Principal elaborated on 15 categories of awards, clearly explaining their significance and the procedures to attain them. These included the Academic Excellence Award, PRO Award, Character Candle Award, Ekalavya Award, Chairman Goldstar Award, Limelight Scholars Award, Pratik Scholarship Award, Best Portfolio Award, Star Notebook Award, Student Well-being Ambassadors Award (Prefect Council), Class Champion Award, SHIELD Student Award (Safety Ambassadors), ‘Athlete of the Meet’ Award, Read to the Principal Award, and the Kindness Tree Award.
Furthermore, she informed that 14 departments are preparing to introduce additional recognitions, citing the Mathematics Department’s Number Ninja Award, designed to promote mastery in multiplication tables.
It was also announced that four new awards have been introduced this academic session, while the Character Candle Award has been refined as an evolved version of the earlier Character Tree Award. Concluding her address, the Principal expressed her aspiration to see every student earn at least two awards by the end of the Academic Session 2026–27 and extended her best wishes for their bright and successful future.
