One-Day Peer Teaching in Senior and Middle School

Date: Jun 29th, 2026

As part of the School's commitment to promoting collaborative learning and leadership, a One-Day Peer Teaching Programme (Student-to-Student Mentorship) was successfully organised on 29th June, 2026 in the classrooms of Middle School.
A team of 38 students from Grades IX to XII enthusiastically took on the role of teachers and conducted interactive classroom sessions for students of Grades V to VIII. Under the programme, Grade IX students taught Grade V, Grade X students taught Grade VI, Grade XI students taught Grade VII, and Grade XII students taught Grade VIII.
The student mentors taught different subjects, including Science, Mathematics, English, Nepali, Sanskrit, Hindi, Social Studies, and Computer Science. Each student mentor prepared a detailed lesson plan based on the topics assigned by the respective subject teachers and used self-prepared teaching materials to make the lessons engaging and effective.
This innovative initiative reflects the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, who presented the concept during the Annual General Meeting for the academic session 2026/27. The teaching fraternity of DAV School observe this programme as a significant step towards creating a collaborative learning environment making education more meaningful and inspiring.
According to Senior School Activity In-charge Mr. Tanka Nath Ghimire, the programme aimed to develop leadership, communication, teaching, and mentoring skills among senior students while strengthening their sense of responsibility and confidence. Teachers observed the sessions and provided feedback through reflection worksheets prepared by the school administration.
