Principal Launches 4 New Awards in Different Discipline: DAV to Announce 14 Departmental (Subject-wise) Awards Soon
Upholding the tradition of academic excellence at DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School, the Principal, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, honoured the class toppers of the Academic Session 2025–26 during the Senior School assembly held on 5 May 2026. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Vice-principal, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Vijaya Tater.
A total of 28 students from Grade IX were recognised for securing positions among the top three in their respective sections, achieving outstanding results ranging from a GPA of 4 to above 90 per cent in the final examinations. Similarly, 15 students from Grade XI earned this distinction and were felicitated for their remarkable performance.
In her brief yet inspiring address, the Principal extended her heartfelt congratulations to all the achievers for their commendable accomplishments. She encouraged students to remain dedicated in the new academic session and strive to reach the podium through consistent effort and excellence.
Welcoming both promoted students and new entrants of Grades IX and XI, the Principal also highlighted the school’s Positive Reinforcement programmes, which focus on academic excellence, student well-being, and holistic development. She emphasised the importance of awards that nurture individual growth while contributing to society, the nation, and humanity at large.
The Principal introduced 15 award categories, clearly explaining their significance and the criteria required to achieve them. These include the Academic Excellence Award, PRO Award, Character Candle Award, Ekalavya Award, Chairman Goldstar Award, Limelight Scholar Award, Pratik Scholarship Award, Best Portfolio Award, Star Notebook Award, Student Well-being Ambassadors Award (Prefect Council), Class Champion Award, SHIELD Student Award (Safety Ambassadors), ‘Athlete of the Meet’ Award, Read to the Principal Award, and the Kindness Tree Award.
She further shared that all the 14 departments are set to introduce their own awards, with the Mathematics Department already launching the ‘Number Ninja Award’, dedicated to mastery in multiplication tables.
Additionally, four new awards have been introduced this academic session, while the Character Candle Award has been presented as a refined version of the earlier Character Tree Award.
Concluding her address, the Principal expressed her hope that each student would strive to earn at least two awards by the end of the Academic Session 2026–27 and wished them a bright and successful future.
