Legendary Singer Mr. Ananda Karki at DAV School: Hanna wins the Voice of DAV title, and Hitisha is crowned Dancing Star of DAV

Legendary Nepali singer Mr. Ananda Karki visited DAV School as the Chief Guest for the Grand Finale of Voice of DAV and Dancing Star of DAV 2025/26, held in Buddha Hall on 5 February, marking his return to the institution after fifteen years. The event celebrated exceptional young talent, with Hanna Maharjan clinching the Voice of DAV title and Hitisha Maheshwori being crowned Dancing Star of DAV.
Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal noted that this was Mr. Karki’s second visit to DAV as Chief Guest, recalling his earlier presence at a similar programme in 2011. His return was warmly received by students, teachers and parents alike.
The grand finale featured vibrant and captivating performances by a total of sixteen finalists—ten in Dancing Star of DAV and six in Voice of DAV. Each contestant had earned a place in the finale after successfully progressing through several competitive rounds conducted throughout the academic year. The event was judged by renowned professional choreographer Mr. Swastik Aryal.

DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, in the presence of the Chief Guest, presented awards to all the winners. He also encouraged every participant by presenting medals and merit certificates in recognition of their dedication and talent.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Karki shared that although he had attended similar programmes in various schools and colleges, his experience at DAV was truly distinctive. He wholeheartedly appreciated the students’ performances and commended the school management for organising such a meaningful event. He encouraged the young performers to remain committed to their art, emphasising that true artists continue their journey with perseverance, even in the face of setbacks. Highlighting the value of music, he remarked that it has the power to guide the human mind towards positivity. With a musical career spanning over four decades, he inspired students through both his words and his presence.
Adding further charm to the occasion, Mr. Karki enthralled the audience with his melodious renditions of popular songs such as Janam Janam Jiula Sangai and Badal Barsha Bijuli, among others. Buddha Hall resonated with applause and admiration as students, teachers and parents joined in celebrating the moment.
The programme was smoothly moderated by Rajshree Adhikari (X ‘E’) and Sudikchay Guragain (IX ‘E’). The formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by senior musician Mr. Raju Singh.
