Grade VI Students Visit SERC for Experiential Learning
Date: Aug 20th, 2026
The Vocational Department (Life Skills) organised an educational field visit to the Special Education and Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children (SERC), Chapagaun-10, Godawari, on 10th August 2026. A total of 29 students from Grade VI participated in the visit, accompanied by Mr. Bijay Lama from the Vocational Department and HPE teacher Ms. Pragati Khadka.
Following a warm welcome, the students attended an orientation session conducted by Ms. Urusha Manandhar, along with psychologists, ABA therapists and counselors. The session introduced the students to SERC, the children it supports, and the various educational, therapeutic and rehabilitation services provided by the organization.
During the visit, the students explored different flower-named classrooms, including Laligurans, Tulip, Lily and Rose, as well as therapy rooms, vocational training rooms and other facilities. Divided into groups, the students had the opportunity to interact with the children, observe their learning activities, and gain first-hand insight into therapy sessions and vocational training.
The hands-on experience helped the students develop empathy, patience, communication skills and compassion while deepening their understanding of individual differences. The visit provided meaningful learning beyond the classroom and encouraged greater awareness, respect, acceptance and an inclusive attitude towards children with disabilities.
The school extends its sincere gratitude to the entire SERC team for their valuable guidance, support and co-operation in making the field visit a meaningful and enriching learning experience for the students.
