Fightback Gala Grand Felicitation 2026 Organised Successfully

Chairperson of the National Women Commission, Ms. Kamala Kumari Parajuli Appreciates Self Defense Education and Life Protection Skills of DAV
DAV School, in collaboration with Fightback Nepal, successfully organised the Fightback Gala Grand Felicitation 2026 in Buddha on May 25.
The programme was held in the gracious presence of the Chairperson of the National Women Commission, Ms. Kamala Kumari Parajuli, Guest of Honour -Chairperson of DAV School Shree Anil Kedia and Ms. Rima Das Pradhan, Special Guests- Mr. Narayan Prasad Dhakal and Mr. Prahlad Regmi, along with distinguished guests Mr. Dipak Acharya, Mr. Ajay Ghiraiya, and Mr. Sanjay Agrawal.
The First Lady Shreemati Sunita Kedia, Director of DAV School Shree Ayush Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, Founding Director of Fight Back Nepal Mr. Vikrant Raj Pandey and all the members of the management team extended warm hospitality and welcome to the invited guests and parents.
The formal session commenced with a welcome song, followed by the welcoming of the Guest, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, and presentation of the national anthem. Thereafter, the Founding Director of Fightback Nepal, Mr. Vikrant Raj Pandey, delivered the welcome speech highlighting the organisation’s significant contribution towards educating schoolgirls and women through self-defense and empowerment training programmes. Parents highly appreciated the initiative, recognising its importance in promoting confidence, safety, and empowerment among girls and women in society. His welcome speech was followed by a thematic dance performance.
One of the major highlights of the programme was the awards distribution ceremony. Outstanding performers were recognised and honoured with medals and merit certificates by the distinguished guests in the presence of the Chairperson, Principal, and founding director of Fightback Nepal. Group stage performances were also presented as part of the gala competition, with winners were selected from each category.
Parents also had the opportunity to listen to the inspiring thoughts and experiences shared by Chief Guest Ms. Parajuli and Guest of Honour Ms. Pradhan on women’s empowerment, equality, and social awareness.
The programme was further enriched by captivating performances including hip-hop thematic dance, Draupati Cheer Haran dance, Bollywood, Tollywood, and Nepali cultural dances, which added elegance and excitement to the celebration.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Kamala Kumari Parajuli appreciated DAV School for organising such a meaningful programme focused on self-defense and life protection skills for students. She highlighted that although women today have greater opportunities in many sectors, violence against women still remains a serious concern. She also shared the ongoing efforts of the National Women Commission in legal and media advocacy to promote equality and ensure the rights and safety of women in Nepal.
Similarly, Ms. Rima Das Pradhan shared her valuable experiences of working in different countries and at policy-making levels in the field of women’s empowerment.
Speaking on behalf of the parents community, Mr. Mahendra Bhakta Shrestha appreciated the programme and encouraged parents to nurture a culture of questioning and critical thinking among children both at home and in society. He expressed that encouraging children to speak up and ask questions is closely connected to the spirit of Fightback training.
The formal programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Middle School Co-ordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi. The MCs for the programme were Ms. Pratikshya Nepali and Mr. Shyam Lal Das (Senior School Teachers).
