Family Jamboree of Grade IX – A Delightful Experience for Parents

The parents of Grade IX students had the pleasure of attending the Family Jamboree, which was successfully organised on 27th February 2026 at Buddha Hall, Shankar Sadan. The event brought together students, parents, and teachers in a warm and lively atmosphere, celebrating talent, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.
The programme began with a brief introduction of the programme, followed by the welcoming of the guests and parents. This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp in honour of the founding pillars and divine figures, and the presentation of the National Anthem.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Shalini Tater Hollingum, Senior Manager at Accenture, a global consulting firm employing more than 800,000 people worldwide. Drawing from her vast experience in technology and leadership, she shared inspiring and encouraging words with the audience. The programme was further honoured by the presence of Special Guest Mr. Shalaj Tater, Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets; the Guest of Honour, DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia; Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao; Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal; CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater; SSO Mr. Prashant Samal; HR Manager Mr. Ashish Rai; and Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji.
The programme was smoothly moderated by Mr. Shovan Bhandari and Ms. Pratikshya Nepali, while the welcome speech was delivered by Ms. Diksha Koirala. One of the most enjoyable highlights of the event was the lively Parents’ Game Competition conducted by Mr. Binod Piya. The activity created great excitement and encouraged enthusiastic participation from parents. The competition concluded with the announcement of results and prize distribution, celebrating the enthusiasm and creativity of the participants.
Parents were delighted by the wide range of cultural performances presented by the students. These included a thematic dance, hip-hop dance, Bharatanatyam–Kathak fusion, Nepali modern dance, international dance, Bollywood dance, and an English song performance. A special mashup song paying tribute to the late Dharmendra (Bollywood Actor) added a touching and memorable moment to the programme.
In her address, Dr. Shalini Tater Hollingum appreciated the vibrant learning environment of the school and fondly recalled her own school days. She praised the students’ confidence and talent displayed on stage and emphasised the importance of discovery, resilience, and facing challenges. She also highlighted the value of strong collaboration between parents, teachers, and students in shaping holistic development.
The programme concluded on a joyful note, with parents leaving the hall feeling proud, delighted, and inspired by the remarkable efforts of the students and the entire school community. The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Kamana Adhikari, and a team of parents from Grade X served as judges for the event.
