Doughnut with Dad: Integrating Family Values and Culture into School Life

DAV School organized its highly anticipated event, "Doughnut with Dad," on August 21 within the school premises.
Representative fathers from Nursery to Grade XII were cordially invited to participate in the celebration. The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome extended to the fathers by Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, CAO Ms. Vijaya Tater, Human Resources Manager, SSO, Wing Co-ordinators, and Heads of Departments.
During the event, fathers visited classrooms where students engaged them through inspiring discussions, interactive activities, and personal experiences shared by both students and teachers. The fathers also distributed delicious doughnuts to the students, which they had brought from home. Following the classroom visits, a special assembly was held during which students honoured their fathers by presenting them with khada and heartfelt gifts, creating a memorable moment of gratitude and appreciation.
Addressing the students, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal noted that "Doughnut with Dad" is one of the students' most cherished programs and is organized in every semester. He explained that the initiative aims to connect fathers with the school's teaching and learning environment while teaching children to respect and follow their parents' guidance. Mr. Khanal added that this initiative is a part of DAV's decade-long effort to integrate culture with modern education. Representing the parent community, Mr. Binay Prasad Dhakal shared nostalgic memories of his own school days and encouraged students to enjoy their school life by playing, dancing and learning.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, students from the Music Department performed heartwarming songs dedicated to their fathers. Overall, the event served as a touching platform for exchanging stories, lessons, and inspiration, ultimately strengthening familial bonds and motivating the younger generation.
The program was successfully moderated by Ms. Asha Khadka (HOD, English) for the Senior School, Mr. Surchen Shah (Middle School Activity In-charge) for the Middle School, and Ms. Dikshya Pahari for the Junior and Kindergarten Schools.
All the invited fathers were served delicious doughnut and snacks at the School canteen immediately after the assembly programme.
