DAV Secures Second Position at 1st Godawari Mayor Cup Open Valley Taekwondo Championship 2026

DAV Taekwondo Team delivered an impressive performance at the 1st Godawari Mayor Cup Open Valley Taekwondo Championship 2026, held on August 8, 2026. Competing against around 20 schools and Dojangs, the team secured overall second position with an impressive haul of 21 medals—6 Gold, 7 Silver and 8 Bronze.
As per the results in Speed Kicks category, Sherolene Rana Magar won a Gold medal, while Agrim Budhathoki and Akshunna Rai secured Silver medals. Samyam Karna and Konjyok Moktan added two Bronze medals to the team's tally.
The team continued its strong performance in Poomsae across different age groups. In the Boys' category, Agrim Budhathoki won Gold in the Under-12 division, while Aaradhay Khadka secured Silver in the Under-14 division. In the Girls' category, Ojashwi Dangol won Gold and Reeva Shrestha secured Bronze in the Under-12 division. Asmina KC won Gold and Tanishqa secured Silver in the Under-14 division. Shreya Bajracharya and Nikita Thakur added a Silver and a Bronze medal, respectively, in the Under-16 division.
The team also performed well in the Kyorugi events. In the Boys' category, Nyalosh Rana Magar won Gold in the 22 kg division, while Samyam Karna secured Silver in the 35 kg division. Raunak Thakur and Konjyok Moktan won Bronze medals in the 22 kg and 29 kg divisions, respectively.
In the Girls' Kyorugi events, Suruchi Thakur secured Gold in the 26 kg division, while Syalon Rana Magar won Silver in the 29 kg division. Aakriti KC and Prapti Kasaju added two Bronze medals in the 38 kg and 41 kg divisions, respectively.
