Date: Aug 21st, 2024

Students from Nursery to Grade XII joyfully celebrated Janai Purnima (Rakshya Bandhan) on 16th and 18th August 2024, within the school premises.
DAV, widely known for its motto 'Education with Culture', has a tradition of celebrating national festivals and historical events by involving students in various creative activities. The school strongly believes that an understanding of one’s cultural roots is essential for making a meaningful impact on a global scale.
The Head of the Art Department, Mr. Rajumuni Bajracharya, stated that the primary goal of celebrating Janai Purnima or Rakshya Bandhan is to engage students in their own cultural traditions. He further mentioned, "We have observed that students consistently enhance their creative skills through such platforms every year."
As a part of the celebration, DAV Kindergarten wing involved young children in a Rakhi Making Project. Meanwhile, the primary school organised 'Rakhi Making Competition' for the selected students of Grade I to IV in Art Room. Similarly all the Students from Grades I to IV participated in the Rakhi designing competition in their classrooms.
Additionally, a total of one hundred and fifty six enthusiastic students from middle and senior school took part in the Inter-House and Inter-Club Rakhi Making Competitions. The competitions were organised separately for Houses and Clubs, with fifteen clubs and twenty-four groups representing six houses in equal proportions participating in the event.
In the Inter-Club Competition, the Newton Science Club secured first place, followed by the Sports Club in second place. Five clubs—Mother Teresa Social Service Club, William Wordsworth English Club, Helen Keller Library Club, Kabir Sahitya Samaj, and Friends of the Zoo—tied for third place.
In the Inter-House Competition, Mt. Annapurna House achieved first place across all categories, including Grades V and VI, Grades VII and VIII, Grades IX and X, and Grades XI and XII.
