Avanie Rai Wins Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship, Qualifies for Asia Grand Final

Avanie Rai, a student of Grade IX ‘H’ at DAV, emerged as the girls’ champion at the Faldo Junior Tour Nepal Championship, securing qualification for the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final to be held in Vietnam this March.
In the girls’ category, Avanie clinched the title with a narrow one-stroke victory over Britain’s Emily Low Gludice. She carded a total score of 252, finishing just ahead of Emily, who posted 253. Yashvi Shrestha secured third place with a total score of 270. The competition remained highly competitive throughout the tournament, with Avanie displaying remarkable composure in the final round to seal the championship.
Along with Avanie, Prakrit Tamang and Soham Agrawal also earned qualification for the Asia Grand Final by winning their respective boys’ titles in different age categories. The three-day championship, organised by the Nepal Golf Association, saw the participation of 41 players.
With these victories, Avanie, Prakrit and Soham will represent Nepal at the Faldo Junior Tour Asia Grand Final in Vietnam.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by officials of the Nepal Golf Association, including President Tashi Ghale, as well as representatives from the Bagmati Province Golf Association and the Royal Nepal Golf Club. The officials congratulated the young golfers and extended their best wishes for success at the international level.
