Principal Launches 4 New Awards in Different Discipline: DAV to Announce 14 Departmental (Subject-wise) Awards Soon
The achievers of the Best Scrap Book Award for the Academic Session 2025–26 were honoured with merit certificates and awards during the morning assembly of the Middle and Senior School yesterday (5 May 2026).
The Principal, Dr Bhubaneswari Rao, in the presence of Vice-Principal Mr Ramchandra Khanal and CAO Ms Vijaya Tater, congratulated all the awardees and wished them continued success in their future endeavours. The evaluation and selection of awardees were conducted by Don Bosco Institute of Technical Education, Thecho, Lalitpur.
The results reflected an impressive blend of technical proficiency and creative expression among vocational students from Grades VI to IX. Alongside recognising top performers in Vocational Education, the school also announced the winners of the much-anticipated “Best Scrap Book” awards for the Summative Assessments (SA1 and SA2). Students demonstrated exceptional talent in disciplines such as IT/Robotics, Beauty and Hair Styling (BHS), and Fashion Design (FD).
Among the class toppers, Harshit Ajmera secured first position in IT/Robotics in Grade VII, followed by Parridhi Malla Shahi in BHS and Rahul Gupta in IT/Robotics. In Grade VIII, Shreya Bajracharya achieved first place in BHS, while Afsana Maharjan in Fashion Design and Ananya Gupta in BHS secured the second and third positions respectively. In Grade IX, Catherine Gandarva stood first in BHS, with Priya Jaiswal and Sayusha Maskey excelling in Fashion Design and securing second and third positions respectively.
The Best Scrap Book Awards recognised students who presented their learning through creative visual storytelling. In Grade VI Life Skills (SA1), Aanchal Mohta secured first position, followed by Utkrista Khadka and Abhik Upaddhyaya in second and third places respectively. In SA2, Aanya Srivastava secured first position, followed by Shashank Jha and Ajala Lamichhane in second and third positions respectively.
For Grades VII, VIII and IX, winners were recognised across four vocational subjects: BHS, Fashion Design, IT/Robotics, and Mass Media. In Grade VII, SA1 winners were Hapija Sekh (BHS), Rakshya Agrawal (FD), Rahul Gupta (IT/Robotics), and Deena Karmacharya (Mass Media), while SA2 winners were Navya Mohta (BHS), Somiya Mandal (FD), Khushi Sah (IT/Robotics), and Ronish Shahi (Mass Media).
In Grade VIII, SA1 winners included Palak Rauniyar (BHS), Shiksha Sharma (FD), Ayan Yadav (IT/Robotics), and Asmina K.C. (Mass Media), while SA2 winners were Riddhi Agrawal (BHS), Anushka Bhansali (FD), Riwaz Pradhanang (IT/Robotics), and Anmol Sharma (Mass Media).
Similarly, in Grade IX, SA1 winners were Chanchal Mohta (BHS), Rupsi Hazar (FD), Stuti Rasaily (IT/Robotics), and Leona Shrestha (Mass Media), while SA2 winners included Unika Jaiswal (BHS), Sayusha Maskey (FD), Manyata Jaiswal (IT/Robotics), and Sakshi Shah (Mass Media).
During the assembly, the Principal also introduced 15 categories of awards, explaining the significance and criteria of each in a clear and accessible manner. These included the Academic Excellence Award, PRO Award, Character Candle Award, Ekalavya Award, Chairman Goldstar Award, Scholar Limelight Award, Pratik Scholarship Award, Best Portfolio Award, Star Notebook Award, Student Well-being Ambassadors Award (Prefect Council), Class Champion Award, SHIELD Student Award (Safety Ambassadors), ‘Athlete of the Meet’ Award, Read to the Principal Award, and Kindness Tree Award.
She further announced that 14 departments are set to introduce their own awards, with the Mathematics Department taking the lead through the “Number Ninja Award”, dedicated to mastery of multiplication tables.
In this extended line of recognition, four new awards have been introduced from the current academic session, while the Character Candle Award has been presented as a refined version of the earlier Character Tree Award. Concluding her address, the Principal expressed her aspiration to see each student achieve at least two awards by the end of the Academic Session 2026–27 and wished them a bright and successful future ahead.
