Walking Through Memory Lane, a much-awaited parental involvement programme was organised for Grade IV students in Jetavan Hall on December 8, in the gracious presence of the Vice-principal, Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and Junior School Co-ordinator, Mr. Andrew Fitz Patrick.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Junior School Co-ordinator, Mr. Andrew Fitz Patrick.
The programme was enriched by the contributions of the following parents: Mr. Nikesh Dongol (Section A), Mr. Rupesh Karki (Section B), Ms. Alina Bhandari (Section C), Ms. Nisha Kayal (Section D), Ms. Laxmi Subedi (Section E), Ms. Meenakshi Bhardwaj (Section F), Mr. Rudra Prasad Poudel (Section G) and Ms. Rama Poudel (Section H).
The parents shared inspiring experiences from their early childhood, school, college and university years, and spoke about their professional journeys. It was enlightening for the students to learn how the parents developed interest in their chosen professions. While some parents encouraged students to let life unfold naturally and learn through experiences, others shared valuable moral lessons and emphasised the importance of setting goals and remaining focused in life.
In his concluding remarks, Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the parents for their thoughtful and engaging presentations. He further highlighted that the values taught at home and at school are closely aligned, and programmes such as Walking Through Memory Lane help students grasp these lessons in a simple and meaningful way.
All participating parents appreciated DAV School’s commitment to instilling ethical and moral values alongside quality education. The programme was skillfully moderated by Ms. Kopila Khatri from the Junior School. Junior School Activity In-charge, Ms. Anusha Rana, along with some Grade IV teachers, ensured warm hospitality and a cordial welcome for all the invited parents. The audience comprised students from Sections IV 'C', 'D', 'E' and 'F' sections.
