USA Tour, 2024/25: A Journey of Exploration and Inspiration

A group of 29 enthusiastic students from DAV School embarked on an unforgettable educational tour to the United States of America (USA) from 24th September to 5th October 2024.
They were accompanied by the Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, SSO Mr. Prashant Samal, and Middle School teacher Ms. Shreejana Rana. This meticulously planned tour combined cultural exploration, academic enrichment, and moments of leisure, leaving an indelible mark on everyone involved.
The journey commenced on 24th September as the group departed from New Delhi and arrived in the bustling city of New York via Air India. Known as the "City That Never Sleeps," New York provided the perfect beginning to their adventure. On the first day, the students experienced iconic landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge, the vibrant Manhattan area, and the 86th floor of a renowned skyscraper, offering panoramic views of the city. The group also ventured to New Jersey, soaking in the dynamic urban atmosphere.
The second day unfolded with a visit to the world-famous Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom and hope. Following this awe-inspiring experience, the students explored other notable sights before heading to the airport for their flight to Florida.
Florida brought new excitement on the third day as the group visited Orlando, home to the renowned Kennedy Space Center. At NASA, they explored the wonders of space exploration and later enjoyed a shopping spree, immersing themselves in the local culture.
The fourth day was once-in-a-lifetime experience as the students witnessed a live rocket launch. This extraordinary event was complemented by engaging activities, culminating in the presentation of participation certificates. A highlight of the day was a session with Sir Don Thomas, a distinguished astronaut who has travelled to space four times. His inspiring presentation and interaction with the students underscored their keen interest and deep knowledge of astronomy.
On the fifth day, the group relaxed and revealed in the natural beauty of Florida’s pristine beaches, enjoying games and recreational activities. The sixth day was filled with excitement as the students visited Universal Studios and the Islands of Adventure, experiencing thrilling rides and captivating attractions.
The seventh day marked a transition as the group flew from Florida to Baltimore and travelled onwards to Niagara Falls. The awe-inspiring sight of the cascading waterfalls created unforgettable memories, with adventurous activities adding to the thrill.
On the eighth day, the students travelled to Boston by bus. The charm of Boston’s historical landmarks and bustling markets left a lasting impression.
The ninth day was a highlight for the academically inclined students as they visited the prestigious Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Engaging interactions with professors offered valuable insights into the world of higher education and innovation.
On the tenth and final day, the group flew back to New York, wrapping up their extraordinary tour. They prepared to return home, carrying with them memories of joy, curiosity, and a profound appreciation for the scientific advancements of the USA.
The USA Tour 2024/25 was a resounding success, providing the students with enriching experiences that broadened their horizons and ignited their aspirations.
