
Swami Dayananda Saraswati Bicentenary Celebration

DAV School celebrated the bicentenary of Swami Dayananda Saraswati with great splendour on 12th February 2025, within the school premises. The entire school community came together to pay tribute to the revered founder of the Dayananda Anglo-Vedic (DAV) philosophy, which harmonises the spiritual wisdom of the East with the technological advancements of the West.
As a part of the celebrations, students from Kindergarten to Grade XI, along with teachers and staff, participated in a floral homage and prasad distribution ceremony at Indu Sadan and Shankar Sadan.
The English Department organised different competitions throughout the week, inspired by Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s teachings, for middle school students. Additionally, students of Kindergarten, Grades I, II, IX, and XI watched a documentary on Swami Dayananda Saraswati, tailored to their age groups.
Grades III and IV engaged in a biography-sharing and reading competition, while students from Grades IX and XI, along with the Housekeeping Department, participated in the Trikundiya Havan at Indu Sadan.
A special discourse on Swami Dayananda Saraswati was held in Buddha Hall for students of Grades VII and VIII, with the presence of invited parents and vedic knowledge seekers. The session was led by Prof. Dr. Krishna Chandra Sharma from the Central Department of English, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur, Kathmandu.
DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and other school authorities graced different venues, adding significance to the occasion in honour of Swami Dayananda Saraswati, the guiding force behind DAV Schools and Colleges worldwide.
To commemorate this special event, the school declared the third ‘Bagless Day’ of the academic session 2024/25.
