Sushil Kedia and Pratik JBR Memorial Havan

Date: Oct 6th, 2024
In honour of the 58th birth anniversary of the late Sushil Kedia, the Sanskrit Department organized the 'Sushil Kedia-Pratik JBR Memorial Havan,' in Pratik Hall on October 6.
Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal opened the ceremony by addressing the students, explaining the rituals and cultural significance of the Havan, inspired by the teachings of Swami Dayananda Saraswati. The Havan followed the traditional Arya Samaj format.
Mr. Purushottam Rijal, Head of the Sanskrit Department, recited Havan verses from the Rigveda, guiding all attendees through the sacred rituals. This Havan culture, spread globally by Swami Dayananda Saraswati—the founder of DAV Schools worldwide—aims to instill cultural values.
The ceremony held in Pratik Hall was dedicated to commemorating both the late Sushil Kedia and Pratik Sumsher Jung Bahadur Rana, a former DAV student in whose memory Pratik Hall was established. Pratik's mother, who attends this annual Havan, prays for the peace and eternal rest of her son.
