Kabir Sahitya Samaj hosted a captivating Hindi Speech Competition for CBSE students of Grades IX and X at Jetavan Hall on October 1. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with students delivering thought-provoking speeches on a variety of topics.
Participants were given topics such as "The Importance of Sports in Modern Life," "Is Social Media Necessary or Unnecessary?," "The Need for Joint Families in the Present World," and "My Future Is in My Hands." Additional topics included issues related to the internet, health, education, mobile games, and gender equity.
According to Hindi Club In-charge, Ms. Indu Thakur, the competition aimed to develop linguistic skills and improve students' public speaking abilities. The evaluation criteria included fluency, presentation style, content, structure, non-verbal communication, and the conclusion. The judges were Ms. Indu Thakur and Sanskrit teacher Mr. Sudarshan Adhikari. Pranav Agrawal from Grade IX 'G' and Shivani Gupta from Grade IX 'H' served as the programme moderators.
A total of thirteen students from Grade IX and eleven from Grade X participated, with results being determined on a class basis.
Meanwhile, Hindi HoD Mr. Purushottam Pokharel provided feedback on the contestants' performances, sharing key public speaking tips and encouraging the students to continue refining their skills. He praised their talents and urged them to pursue further growth in future competitions.
In the results for Grade IX, Hemakshi Agrawal from Section G secured first place, followed by Chahat Deo from Section F in second place, Angel Bhardwaj from Section F in third, and Manas Poddar from Section G receiving a consolation prize.
In Grade X, Subhecha Patra from Section I won first place, with Rishita Sharma from Section I in second place, Aman Krishna Sah from Section I in third, and Madhav Sah from Section H earning a consolation prize. The audience comprised students from Grade IX 'F' and Grade X 'H'.
The winners were honoured with Certificate of Achievements immediately after the competition.
