Soldering Workshop and Competition

Date: Aug 18th, 2024

Vocational Department organised a 'Soldering Workshop and Competition' for the Electronics students of Grade VII in Indu Hall on August 6.
Er. Jonish Raj Lama, IT and electronics teacher, conducted the workshop and competition. The students used the materials like signature pen, metal dish, wash scrub, soldering iron, solder, flux and matrix board in the workshop and competition.
The objective of the soldering workshop and competition was to encourage and motivate students to understand soldering process and add innovation in design to produce reliable information.
The competition helped students to become acquainted with soldering tools. They learnt different types of soldering irons, soldering stations, soldering tips, and other tools used in the soldering process. They also understood how to select and handle the appropriate equipment for different soldering tasks.
Prior to the competition, Er. Lama trained the students to solder components on circuit board safely and correctly. For more information, soldering is a process used for joining metal parts to form a mechanical or electrical bond. The winners will be introduced and honoured with a merit certificate in the assembly soon.
