Sharing and Caring at the Orphanage Home in Nakhudol, Lalitpur

Date: Aug 29th, 2025
The Mother Teresa Social Service Club organised a visit to an orphanage home in Nakhudol, Lalitpur, on 28th August, 2025.
A total of 33 students from Grades V to XII, together with three teachers — Ms. Arati Sharma (HOD), Ms. Kusum Lama, and Mr. Shreedhar Subedi — participated in the programme. On this occasion, the club members donated stationery items, storybooks, and lunch boxes to the children of the orphanage.
The orphanage, which currently shelters around 40 children, is managed by Ms. Rita Rai. She shared with the visiting teachers how she has been caring for the children with dedication.
According to the Club In-charge, Mr. Shreedhar Subedi, the students interacted warmly with the children, introducing themselves and learning about one another’s lives. Within a short time, they built a strong bond and enjoyed dancing together. The students also served lunch prepared for the children and joined them in singing and dancing, creating an atmosphere of joy.
The programme reflected the school’s theme EACH, which inspires students to cultivate cultural sensitivity and social responsibility. Many students were deeply moved to see how the children lived without parents and expressed their wish to spend more time with them. On their return, each student expressed a heartfelt desire to visit the orphanage again in the future.
