Date: Jun 6th, 2025

An orientation programme titled “Why French Language? Its Importance in the 21st Century and Higher Studies in France” was successfully conducted for the students of Grade IX on June 4. The session was organised by the Department of Foreign Language under the guidance of Mr. Sabin Shakya.
The programme focused on the global significance of the French language in today’s interconnected world. Students were introduced to the many roles French plays—not only as a language of art and cuisine, but also in science, technology, international diplomacy, business, and trade.
The session also highlighted that French is spoken by over 300 million people across five continents and is one of the official working languages of key international organisations, including the United Nations, European Union, and African Union.
The orientation further explored the opportunities available for higher education in France, encouraging students to consider French as a valuable asset for their academic and professional futures.
