
Inter Section Speech Competition on the Relevance of Libraries and Reading for Grade IX and X Students

Helen Keller Library Club organised an Inter Section Speech Competitions for Grade IX and X students on 16th July, focusing on the significance of libraries and the power of reading in today’s world.
The event aimed to enhance students' public speaking skills, promote a reading culture, and boost self-confidence according to Club In-charge Ms. Pratikshya Ojha. A total of 18 selected students from Grade IX and X participated in the competition.
Grade X students spoke on the topic “Libraries Still Matter in the 21st Century.” Parth Agrawal from X ‘G’ secured first place with a score of 88.5, followed by Khushbu Bhattarai from X ‘C’ (85.5) and Sakshyam Bista from X ‘B’ (79).
Similarly, Grade IX participants delivered speeches on “The Power of Reading in the Present Age.” Aaradhya Sah from IX ‘E’ stood first with an impressive 89.5 points. Prathana Shrestha from IX ‘C’ and Smarika Maharjan from IX ‘F’ secured second and third places with 78 and 77 points, respectively, while Riya Ambashta from IX ‘G’ secured the fourth position with 64.
The competition was evaluated by Ms. Isha Tripathi and Mr. Aakash Bishwakarma. Diego Singh Maharjan of X ‘C’ served as the moderator for the competition. The students of Grade IX ‘G’ and ‘H’ were the audience.
