Inter-House Taekwondo Competition for Grade IX and X Students

Inter-House Taekwondo Competition was held for the boys and girls of Grade IX and X in Jetavan Hall on January 24. The competition featured the Kyorugi 'Sparring' event, showcasing the students’ skills in this dynamic martial art.
The tournament was organised separately for boys and girls, with a total of 43 students participating. Only those with prior taekwondo training were eligible to compete. The event aimed to promote mental and physical fitness among students while allowing the sports department to identify the strengths and weaknesses of individual players for future training.
In the girls' under 60 kg category, Yukta Poudel from Grade IX 'B' (Mt. Machhapuchhre House) secured first place, while Saguna Banjara from Grade IX 'E' (Mt. Dhaulagiri House) claimed the second position.
In the boys' under 50 kg category, Subham K.C. from Grade IX 'D' (Mt. Gaurishankar House) emerged victorious, followed by Prabhav Joshi from Grade IX 'E' (Mt. Gaurishankar House) in second place. Similarly, in the boys' 50–60 kg category, Aditya Bastola from Grade X 'J' (Mt. Gaurishankar House) won first place, with Devansh Agrawal from Grade X 'J' (Mt. Lhotse House) taking second.
In the boys' above 60 to 65 kg category, Razit Man Singh from Grade X 'J' (Mt. Lhotse House) achieved first place, while Jayansh Raj Yadav from Grade IX 'E' (Mt. Annapurna House) secured second.
The referees for the tournament were the Taekwondo teachers, Ms. Ranju Tamang and Mr. Ham Raj Shah, who ensured the matches were conducted fairly and professionally.
