Date: Aug 11th, 2025
According to the Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Bikash Samiti, the Rakshya Bandhan Festival will be celebrated this year on 9th August (Shrawan 24, 2082).
To commemorate the occasion, students from Grades V to XII enthusiastically participated in an Inter-Club and Inter House Rakhi Making Competitions held on 7th August in the school auditoriums. The celebration of such national festivals reflects the school’s mission to connect students with their country and society, fostering pride in their heritage, culture, and identity. In line with this vision, DAV School has adopted the theme EACH—Empowering Academic Excellence, Cultural Sensitivity, and Holistic Well-being of Each Student—for the current academic session, with this programme forming an integral part of the theme’s objectives.
A total of 156 students from Grades V to XII took part in the competition, showcasing their creativity and the spirit of siblinghood through vibrant and artistic rakhis. The event was organised by the Uttam Kiran Art Club in the presence of Senior School Activity In-charge Mr. Tankanath Ghimire, Grades VII and VIII Activity In-charge Mr. Surchen Shah, and Grades V and VI Activity In-charge Mr. Santosh Rai. The panel of judges comprised Art HoD Mr. Rajumuni Bajracharya and Uttam Kiran Art Club In-charge Ms. Samita Maharjan.
In the Inter-Club category, the Mother Teresa Social Service Club secured first place, followed by Kabir Sahitya Samaj in second place, while six different clubs shared third place. In the House category, Mt. Annapurna House won first place in the Grades V and VI category; Mt. Dhaulagiri House claimed first place in the Grades VII and VIII category; Mt. Dhaulagiri House also topped the Grades IX and X category; and Mt. Kanchanjanga House emerged victorious in the Grades XI and XII category. The second and third position holders across all categories were equally appreciated for their innovative artistic talent.
Rakhis crafted by the students were displayed on the school display boards at the entrances and corridors of both Shankar Sadan and Indu Sadan. The winners will soon be honoured with merit certificates in recognition of their outstanding work.
