Grand Finale of Voice of DAV and Dancing Star of DAV, 2023/24

The Grand Finale of Voice of DAV and Dancing Star of DAV for the session 2023/24 was held with grand success in the presence of School heads, distinguished guests and judges from dance and music industries in Buddha hall yesterday (29th February, 2024). The Voice of DAV competition showcased breathtaking vocal performances from exceptionally gifted finalists who captivated the audience with their vocal prowess. After a fierce and melodious battle, Mayur Basnet from Grade V 'E' emerged as the winner of Voice of DAV, 2023/24. She won a trophy, certificate and rupees 15 thousand cash prize followed by Rashil Shrestha from Grade VIII 'B' in the Runner-up position. He won the runner-up trophy, a certificate and rupees 10 thousand cash prize. Simultaneously, the Dancing Star of DAV brought the stage to life with electrifying dance routines that spanned various genres. The competition was fierce and finally Krishant Gurung with his incredible dance skills and enactments seized the trophy of Dancing Star of DAV, 2023/24. He won the Trophy, Certificate and rupees 15 thousand cash prize. Jiya Jha from Grade IX 'J' won the runner-up trophy, certificate and rupees 10 thousand cash prize. The finalists for Voice of DAV, 2023/24 were Preetishree Shrestha - VI 'E', Dipson Pandey- VIII 'F', Liberty Gurung- VIII 'I' and Ujjwal Dhoot – VIII 'I'. In the same trait, finalists for Dancing Star of DAV, 2023/24 were Shristi Shrestha- IX 'B', Anshu Shrestha- X 'C', Angel Thapa Magar- X 'A' and Sakshi Pun- IX 'A'. They were also honoured with the medal and merit certificate. The Voice of DAV and Dancing Star of DAV 2023/24 was dedicated to legendry singers- Late Bhajanshiromani Bhaktaraj Acharya and Late Ghazal and Playback Singer Pankaj Udhas. Both the singer left us for heavenly abode on 26th February, 2024. The Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao and Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal along with all the distinguished guests prayed for the peace and heavenly abode of the departed souls. At the moment all of them wished to see young students learning the value of struggle and dedication from the life of those legendary singers. In a special emphasis, Chairperson noted that dance and music at these days have become an integral part of human life and then he motivated the students to learn the skills and make their better presence in any profession in future. Mr. Jitendra Chaudhary and Mr. Bibek Thapa presented an evergreen song of Late Pankaj Udhas and Late Bhaktaraj Acharya respectively and made everyone emotional in the auditorium. The Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao was invited on the stage to announce the results immediately after their performances. Addressing the gathering, the Principal wished to see the students following the footstep of those legendary singers. She admired all the performances of the finalists and contribution made by the team of music and dance department teachers. Meanwhile, she took the opportunity to honour Music teachers, Mr. Jitendra Chaudhary and Mr. Bibek Thapa for being the role model to the students at DAV. She also extended heartfelt gratitude to the panel of judges for their immense contribution in making the programme a grand success. The event featured mesmerizing performances from guest artist Mr. Bipin Ghimire. He applauded DAV School for promoting art and culture of the country with equal learning opportunity to global art and culture. Likewise, Mr. Raju Singh, Senior Musician of the country presented his views and opinions in his welcome speech. The judges for Voice of DAV and Dancing Star of DAV- 2023/24 were Mr. Bipin Ghimire, Mr. Mahesh KC, Ms. Sangita Shrestha, Ms. Aasha Thapa, Mr. Raju Singh and Ms. Sagari Shrestha. Ms. Yulia Koirala, founder of Sushil Arts Academy also attended the programme and was all praise to DAV School Management Committee for providing wonderful learning opportunities to the students. The dance club students made a thrilling group performance at the end. All the teachers and students associated with Music and Dance Club were there to make the event a grand success.
