Dashain Cup 2024: A Vibrant Festival of Sports Concludes with Grandeur and Success

The Dashain Cup 2024, which commenced on 30th September, concluded with grand success at DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati on October 5. This annual sports extravaganza featured exhilarating competitions in futsal, cricket, basketball, badminton, table tennis, and taekwondo, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of students and supporters. Throughout the week, all the teams demonstrated exceptional talent and sportsmanship, creating a dynamic and festive atmosphere celebrating athletic spirit. According to Mr. Purnendu Ghosh, Head of DAV Sports Academy, the primary goal of the Dashain Cup was to foster a robust sporting culture within the student community, promote holistic development, and nurture a healthy sense of competition. The competitions took place in various venues across the campus: football matches were held at both the Futsal Ground and Football Ground, basketball on the Basketball Court, table tennis in Pratik Hall, cricket at the Crisal Ground of DAV College Bhanimandal, badminton in Indu Hall, and taekwondo in the Yoga Hall. Hundreds of students from Grades III to XII took part, with winners, first runners-up, and second runners-up receiving medals and merit certificates presented by school officials immediately after each competition. Individual awards were also given to outstanding players in each games. Additionally, younger participants from Grades III, IV, V and VI were honoured with consolation prizes to encourage future engagement. The Dashain Cup 2024 was meticulously managed by teachers from the DAV Sports Academy, ensuring a seamless and inspiring event for all involved.
