DAV Students Illuminate Buddha's Life in Inspiring Musical Drama

In a testament to their commitment to Buddha's teachings, DAV School recently presented a stirring musical drama portraying the life and journey of Siddhartha Gautam.
Over one hundred and fifty students from Grade I to XII took center stage in the Buddha Hall for a three-hour performance on the auspicious occasion of the 2568th Buddha Jayanti on May 24, 2024.
The production masterfully depicted Siddhartha Gautam's evolution from childhood to enlightenment, encompassing his stages of Brahmacharya, Grihastha, Vanaprastha, Sannyasa, and ultimately, enlightenment. The stage was graced by esteemed guests including Vikshu Bimalo from Siddhi Mangal Bihar, Lalitpur, Shree Anil Kedia from DAV School, Dr. Chandrakala Ghimire from the Center Department of Buddha Education at Tribhuvan University, Shree Triratna Manandhar – Associate Professor from Shankar Dev Campus, and Dr. Rajendra Neupane, a Yoga Expert and Trainer.
Addressing the audience, Vikshu Bimalo extended heartfelt wishes to all involved in the musical drama, remarking on the global resurgence of interest in Buddha's teachings. He commended DAV School and its Chairperson, Shree Anil Kedia, for their steadfast dedication to the path of Buddha, incorporating Pariyatti, meditation, and yoga education since its inception.
The musical drama was a part of the school's annual 'Ek Aadhyatmik Sandhya,' a cherished tradition that Principal Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao directed with precision. Teachers and students collaborated on various aspects of the production, from scriptwriting to performance, under the Principal's guidance.
Parents lauded the school's initiative in staging such a grand production within a week, while the dedication of students and teachers was recognized and appreciated by school authorities.
Prior to the musical drama, Shree Anil Kedia and his family organized a spiritual event, 'Dhamma Deshana' and 'Sangha Daan,' inviting monks to impart wisdom. Additionally, the school hosted a Buddha Jayanti Collage Making competition, aligning with the celebration's theme of 'Buddha and Peace.'
Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia and his team also participated in a Vipashyana Camp, underscoring the school's commitment to spiritual growth and offering an opportunity for all to engage in meditation practices.
