DAV Students Excel in 20th Annapurna National School Chess Competition

Five talented students from DAV School showcased remarkable skills at the 20th Annapurna National School Chess Competition, held at Annapurna School, Jyatha, Kathmandu from 6th to 8th June 2025.
In the 13 years and above category, Harshvardan Ralhi of Grade IX secured the third position with an impressive performance, winning six out of seven matches. Pragya Pant from Grade X also performed commendably, securing the fifth position by winning four games and drawing one out of six played. Similarly, Siwani Rai, also from Grade X, earned the eighth position with four wins out of six matches.
Continuing the school's success, Stuti Rasaili of Grade IX achieved the tenth position in the Under-13 category, winning four out of ten matches. In the Under-9 category, Adhira Paudel from Grade IV (Junior School) also secured the tenth position among 23 participants.
Other enthusiastic participants from DAV included Aarohi Thapa (Grade IX), Sauryal Thapa (Grade VIII), Anvit Sunar (Grade VIII), and Kavalya Raj Pant (Grade VIII), all competing in the Under-13 category. Aarohi and Sauryal each won four matches out of seven, while Kaivalya and Anvit secured three victories each from the same number of games.
The competition witnessed participation from over 75 schools. The students were guided and supported throughout the event by Sports Department teachers, Mr. Hem Raj Shahi and Ms. Rhea Dahal.
All the winners, participants, and their dedicated mentors will soon be honoured in a school assembly.
