DAV Students Attend a Social Programme, 'Run for Education'

A large number of DAV students demonstrated their support to a social programme, 'Run for Education' of Ekal Yuva Nepal held in Lalitpur Metropolitan City on February 25.
DAV students wholeheartedly expressed their support to the campaign of Ekal Yuva Nepal and its step to support the children of rural areas of Nepal, particularly those who are deprived to get school education because of poverty or some other reason.
In this moves, a total of 370 students from Grade V to XII of DAV voluntarily attended the programme. For more information, the students of Grade V to VIII participated in 2 Km run and the students of Grade IX to XII participated in 5 Km run.
The 5 Km run for education started from Gate-1 of DAV School and then headed towards Pulchowk, Kandevata Mandir, Jhamsikhel, British School and finished reaching at Gate- 2 of DAV School.
The closing ceremony of 'Run for Education' was held in Buddha Hall in the benign presence of National Cricketer- Shree, Sharad Bheswakar, President of Ekal Vidyala- Shree Mahabir Ghiraiya, DAV Chairperson- Shree Anil Kedia and few distinguished social workers.
The closing ceremony was held in Buddha Hall where top 10 winners of both boys and girls categories were honoured with medals and gift hampers. Similarly, all the participants were honoured with a merit certificate.
Shree Ghiraiya expressed heartfelt gratitude all the participants for their invaluable support to the needy children in the remote areas of Nepal.
Mr. Mahesh Ghiraiya- President of Ekal Yuva Nepal, Mr. Aashutosh Ghiraiya and Ms. Garima Somani also attended the event.
Sports HOD of DAV School Mr. Purnendu Ghosh applauded the programme for connecting social work and sports together.
