Corridor Ceremony Celebrates Victorious Results of GEMS Thunder Bolt Cup, 2024

The players of DAV School achieved remarkable victories in the prestigious GEMS Thunder Bolt Cup 2024, excelling across various events. To honour their outstanding achievements, a special corridor ceremony was held at the entrance of Indu Sadan on December 26.
DAV Chairperson, Shree Anil Kedia in the presence of Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, and Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji congratulated and honoured all the winners and their team coaches during the event.
The results of GEMS Thunder Bolt Cup, 2024 were as follows:
Under-18 Boys Cricket: The team clinched the championship trophy with a thrilling 1-run victory over VS Niketan in the final. All players were awarded gold medals and merit certificates.
Under-12 Boys Cricket: This team also secured the championship trophy, defeating Little Angels’ School by 34 runs in the final. Kamal Shahi was named Best Batsman, while Bikesh Jaiswal earned the Man of the Series title. Gold medals and merit certificates were presented to all players.
Under-16 Boys Cricket: The team won the second runner-up trophy by defeating the host school, GEMS. Keshav Agrawal received the Best Bowler award, and all players were honoured with bronze medals and merit certificates.
Table Tennis: Riwan Muni Bajracharya won the gold medal in the Under-12 Boys Individual Category, while Nirvana Bajracharya secured the bronze medal in the Under-15 Boys Individual Category. Overall, DAV achieved the second runner-up position in the team event.
Taekwondo: Aavash Moktan earned a silver medal in the Under-68kg Boys Category, and Aavash Maharjan won bronze in the Under-74kg Boys Category, both competing in the Kyorugi event.
Addressing the players and the DAV Sports Academy, Shree Anil Kedia emphasised that consistent practice is key to success and acknowledged the challenge of maintaining championship status year after year. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Sports Department teachers and all the players, wishing them success in their future endeavours. The MC for the Corridor ceremony was Head of the Sports Department, Mr. Purnendu Ghosh.
