Club Induction Ceremony Completed with Grand Success

The Club Induction Ceremony for the 2024/25 academic year was held with great success and splendour in the school’s state-of-the-art Buddha Hall on September 30.
The event was honoured by the presence of the SSP of Lalitpur, Mr. Shekhar Khanal, alongside key school officials including Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Vijaya Tater, Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, Middle School Co-ordinator Mr. Krishna Joshi, and Junior School Co-ordinator Mr. Andrew Fitz Patric.
The formal programme commenced with a warm welcome for the Chief Guest and invited parents community, followed by the lighting of the lamp of wisdom and the rendition of the National Anthem.
Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal then conducted the oath-taking ceremony, after which the Chief Guest, accompanied by Vice-Principal and CAO, presented badges to the Club President, Vice-President, Secretary, and executive members. In total, 16 clubs from the Middle and Senior Schools (Grades V to XII) and 6 clubs from the Junior School (Grade III and IV) were formally sworn in under the guidance of the Vice-principal.
As part of the cultural segment, students performed a patriotic song evoking national pride, followed by various dance performances. Middle School students showcased a Salsa dance, Junior School students performed the traditional Tamang Selo, and Senior School students presented a classical fusion of Bharatnatyam, Kathak, and Odissi.
During his address, SSP Mr. Khanal congratulated the newly inducted student leaders and expressed his pleasure at being involved in the educational initiatives of DAV School. He introduced the Police Public Partnership Programme initiated by the Nepal Police for schools and raised awareness about issues concerning drugs and cyber security, particularly relevant to teenagers in the Lalitpur district. He emphasised the important role of educators in identifying the challenges faced by teenagers, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Mr. Khanal urged citizens to actively contribute to crime prevention by reporting incidents promptly, and also discussed issues such as domestic violence and traffic safety to foster societal awareness.
Vice-Principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest for attending the event despite his busy schedule. He also acknowledged the valuable presence of parents, whose support inspires their children, and commended the teachers for their efforts in ensuring the programme’s success. He briefly introduced the Club Induction as one of the school’s leadership development programmes and encouraged the students to carry out their duties and responsibilities with dedication.
The event was moderated by Ms. Asha Khadka, Head of the English Department. The ceremony aimed to enhance student participation in co-curricular activities, offering them opportunities to cultivate skills beyond the classroom.
