
Celebration of the 628th Kabir Jayanti

The 628th Kabir Jayanti was celebrated with deep reverence and enthusiasm by students of Grades IX and X associated with the Kabir Sahitya Samaj on 11th June.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Mr Purushottam Pokharel, Head of the Hindi Department. To honour the occasion, a group of eight students presented Doha—a musical tribute dedicated to the saint-poet Kabir Das—followed by a brief biography presentation by Subh Kumar Dhanuka of Grade X. Additionally, students viewed a documentary highlighting Kabir Das's life and contributions.
The Doha was presented by Anushka Bhansali and Shiksha Sharma from Grade VIII ‘H’, Pratikshya Shah from Grade VIII ‘G’, Sakshi Shah and Nabya Gupta from Grade IX ‘I’, Riya Ambastha from Grade IX ‘G’, and Sakshi Gupta and Chanchal Mohta from Grade IX ‘H’.
According to Ms Indu Thakur, the Kabir Sahitya Samaj In-charge and Master of Ceremonies, the main objective of the event was to share the timeless values and teachings reflected in Kabir Das's life and literary works.
Kabir remains a revered figure in Indian literature, celebrated for his spiritual wisdom and powerful verses. His works have been widely translated and published in numerous languages across the globe.
