Celebration of Family Jamboree of Grade IX

DAV School celebrated the Family Jamboree of Grade IX for the session 2023/24 in its sophisticated Buddha Hall on March 1.
The event was adorned by the Guest of Honour Dr. Karuna Kedia, a gynecologist and Special Guest Dr. Dina Nath Kedia, an eminent ophthalmologist. The Jamboree started with Bhazans and Vedic rituals of welcoming and opening ceremony.
On behalf of DAV School Family, Dr. Bhubaneswari Rao, the Principal wholeheartedly welcomed the distinguished guests and parents' community where she noted that DAV is determined to create an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, creativity, and a sense of global awareness.
During her address, the Principal shared some successful stories of representative students and highlighted on the role of regular communication for proper development and growth of the children. In a special focus, the Principal said "In this era of rapid change and global interconnectedness, the role of parents is more crucial than ever." Adding to this, she said "Beyond academic success, we must equip our children with skills such as critical thinking, adaptability, and resilience."
The motivation and guidance from the School Heads has been an integral part of family jamboree as they share their own research and experience of parenting, innovation in teaching and learning process, need of the children, etc. in the long list.
The students presented their talents and skills through dance, music, enactments and different other types of performing arts. The cultural items of the day were Nepali cultural dance, Hip-hop dance, Bharatnatyam and Kathak dances, English song, contemporary dance, international dance and trending reels dance.
 It was awesome to witness the parents and guardians cheering and motivating their wards in their delightful performances.  
Similarly, the fun-filled parents' game competition was arranged for some interested parents. Ms. Januka Limbu won the game.  Ms. Rabina Thapa won the 1st Runner-up position and Mr. Raushan Shah won the 2nd runner-up position. The winners were honoured with the trophy by the Guest of Honour and Special Guest in the presence of the Chairperson, Principal and Vice Principal.
Addressing on the auspicious occasion, Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia wholeheartedly welcomed all the invited parents and was immensely delighted to introduce his uncle and aunt who were also the guardian during his 7 years of higher studies in Mumbai, India.
In a special emphasis, Chairperson said that he learnt to value things from the guidance of his uncle and aunt. He was highly credited to his uncle and aunt for caring a village boy from Birgunj in Mumbai.
The Guest of Honour, Dr. Karuna Kedia shared her own story how she struggled to learn English at the age of 7. She inspired the parents, teachers and students communities to have determination to succeed in life. At the same time, she also remembered the support and encouragements extended by her husband Dr. Dina Nath Kedia and her elder brother Late Shankar Lal Kedia, the founder of DAV School in Nepal.
Meanwhile, some representative parents were invited to evaluate the performance of the students. They have submitted their evaluation sheets and the winners were introduced in the assembly.
Overall, the Family Jamboree was a huge success, and everyone left with smiles on their faces.
The MCs of the ceremony were Ms. Pratikshya Nepali and Mr. Shovan Bhandari. Similarly, Mr. Binod Piya was the moderator for Parents' Game Competition.
