Award Ceremony of 14th Sushil Kedia Memorial Inter School Table Tennis Tournament

The 2-day 14th Sushil Kedia Memorial Inter School Table Tennis Tournament concluded with grand success at DAV School on 11th August 2025. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 135 players representing 15 schools from across the Kathmandu Valley.
The award ceremony was graced by Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal and Senior School Co-ordinator Mr. Tank Meghji Devji, who emphasised the school’s commitment to promoting sports and physical education. They congratulated the winners and praised the spirited participation of all players, noting that their talent and dedication made the tournament both competitive and enjoyable to witness. The champions were honoured with trophies, medals, and certificates immediately after the final matches.
In the boys’ team event, United School secured first place, followed by Shristi Academy in second place, while AVM and DAV shared third place. In the girls’ team event, AVM claimed first position, United School came second, and Pushpasadan School along with MIS shared third place.
In the boys’ under-12 singles category, DAVSKVB clinched first position, AVM secured second, and Kavya School along with Delight Kindergarten High School shared third place. In the girls’ under-12 singles category, AVM impressively claimed both first and second positions, while Pushpasadan School and MIS shared third place.
In the boys’ under-16 singles category, Shristi Academy emerged victorious in first place, AVM took second, and Ideal Model School together with United School shared third place. In the girls’ under-16 singles category, AVM once again claimed both first and second positions, with DAV and Little Angels’ School sharing third place.
Individual accolades were also presented to outstanding players. The Best Player Awards went to Nirbhik Shakya from Delight Kindergarten High School, Anuska Shah from Shristi Academy, Trijal Chaudhary from Kavya School, and Pramisha Pun from Toran Navjeevan Secondary School in their respective age groups. The Rising Player Awards were conferred upon Sarurat Gautam from United Universal School, Rumani Pathak from DAV, Aaron Maharjan from Pushpasadan School, and Sneha Kumari Mahato from DAV. Meanwhile, the Emerging Player Awards were secured by Kavya Shakya and Shirish Raj Shakya from AVM School.
The tournament was officially inaugurated on 10th August by Mr. Purnendu Ghosh, Head of the Sports Department, and Mr. Sanjay Aryal, Table Tennis Teacher, in the presence of referees, officials, and table tennis teachers from the participating schools. The matches were officiated by a dedicated team of six referees and officials, ensuring fair play and smooth coordination throughout the competition.
