
Active Participation of DAV Students in Balbalika tatha Yuba (Ba Yu) Sambaad, 2025

On 26th April 2025, a team of six students from DAV, accompanied by School Counselor and TGT Social Science Mr. Karthik P., actively participated in the Balbalika tatha Yuba (Ba Yu) Sambaad 2025, a national-level programme at Mt. Everest Hotel, Kathmandu.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished personalities, including State Minister Ms. Rupa BK from the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Dr. Hari Lal Lamsal, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MoYS), Dr. Maheshwar Dhakal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Forest and Environment (MoFE), Rakshya Rajyashwori Thapa- Asia Regional Climate Advisor, UNICEF and Ms. Alice Akunga- UN Resident Co-ordinator in the long list. Approximately one hundred delegates gathered to voice their agendas at Ba Yu Sambad.
In total, ten students participated in this event. The students representing DAV were Khushi Jha (Grade VII 'B'), Upagya Dahal (Grade X 'D'), Darshil Agarwal (Grade X 'F'), Liberty Gurung (Grade X 'F'), Divyansh Jha (Grade X 'G'), and Keshavi Somani (Grade XII 'A'). Representing DAV School, Liberty Gurung and Divyansh Jha actively voiced their concerns and perspectives at Ba Yu Sambad.
The programme aimed to assess the present situation, engage with future perspectives, and develop youth-friendly policy solutions and initiatives, including discussions around NDC 3.0 and the National Youth Policy. According to Mr. Karthik, children and youth are at the heart of Sagarmatha Sambad, 2025: Mountain, Climate Change and the Future of Humanity.
