Date: May 9th, 2023
DAV School organised a '3-day Panchakundiya Vidhya Subharambha Havan' for Kindergarten to Grade XII students in Indu Hall from 2nd to 4th May, 2023.
'3-day Pancha Kundiya Vidhya Subharambha Havan' was organised to mark the beginning of education for the session 2023/24.
Addressing the parents and students, Vice-principal Mr. Ramchandra Khanal, the main 'Yajaman' of the programme noted that the 'Vidya Subharambha Havan' is a regular programme of the School and the School has made it an integral part of vedic-education.
He further elucidated and said that the School follows Dayananda Anglo-vedic model of education where the School has been giving equal importance to the knowledge of Vedas and the technical education of the west. Vice-principal believed that the children will understand and explore the scientific value of Havan and its spiritual dimension much better in the days to come.
The students of Kindergarten (Nursery to UKG) attended the Havan in Shankar Sadan on 2nd May. On the same day, the junior school students (Grade I to IV) participated in Indu Hall.
Similarly, the middle school students (Grade V to VIII) attended Havan on 3rd May and senior school students (Grade IX to XII) participated on 4th May.
The Havan witnessed the active participation of representative parents from all the wings.
Head of the Sanskrit Department, Mr. Damodar Regmi and Sanskrit Teachers Mr. Purushottam Rijal and Niranajan Khatiwada were the Pundits of the Havan for 3 days.
According to Sanskrit HoD, Mr. Regmi, the Havan Path and mantras were recited from Rigved and Shukla Yajurved as per the standard of Aarya Samaj in the traditions of Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati.
The students, teachers and representative parents participated in the Havan and conducted all the rituals as per the guidelines of Pundits.
The main yajaman of Havan in Shankar Sadan was Ms. Shanti Gurung, Kindergarten Co-ordinator.
Havan is our culture and it's in practice from the immemorial time in spiritual perspectives. On the other side, many people practice it for the purifications of body and souls so that a positive energy can be gained and benefit oneself and all the beings.
Many Sanskrit experts have given special emphasis to Havan and have noted Havan as the greatest 'karma' that any human being could do in their life.
In addition, scientific research has repeatedly stated that the smoke particle that is generated from the 'Agni' of Havan destabilizes the toxic gases in our surroundings. Most importantly, the smoke particle of Havan has immense role in repairing the depletion of ozone layer.
For more information, Havan Culture was introduced in Western societies by Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati who later propounded 'Dayananda Anglo-vedic School of thought'. DAV Schools and Colleges that we see around the world are all based on his School of thought.
To conclude, all the School authorities participated in the Havan, supported the children and extended sincere hospitality and warm welcome to all the parents who were present to support their wards despite their busy schedule.
