Inter School Nepali Ghazal Singing Competition

DAV School organized 'Inter School Nepali Ghazal Singing Competition' for secondary level on the occasion of 158th Moti Jayanti in Buddha Hall on September 17.

Renowned Nepali singer Ms. Mandavi Tripathi participated in the programme as the chief guest and performed some outstanding songs. Similarly, senior music composer Mr. Raju Singh, music department's HoD Mr. Jay Shreevastava, prominent singer Mr. Sonup Poudel, musician Ram Hari Poudel and Song writer Mr. Dambar Bikel among others attended the programme.  

A total of thirteen contestants from thirteen different schools performed the ghazals from old generation till date. The competition witnessed diversity of the ghazals from Nepali music industry.

Ms. Mandavi Tripathi, the chief guest of the programme extended heartfelt gratitude to DAV school for providing ghazal singing platform to the young generation. She also extended best wishes to all the contestants. At the moment, she remembered one of the singing programme of her school days which later guided to make career in the music industry. She believed that Interschool Ghazal Singing competition will certainly encourage the young singer in the music field.

Vice Principal Mr. Ram Chandra Khanal extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest Ms. Tripathi for sparing invaluable time and energy to DAV School. Likewise, he equally appreciated the performance of all the contestants and invited all the participating schools for 159th Episode of Motijayanti Celebration and Interschool Ghazal Singing competition next year.

Vice-principal said, 'Motiram Bhatta during his threshold age of 20s, formed a Moti Mandali and motivated the youths to write ghazal. He also remembered Motiram Bhatta as the first essayist, book-writer and journalist.

Earlier, Nepali Department's HoD Mr. Narayan Khatiwada made a welcome speech and briefed the programme schedule.  The judges were Mr. Raju Singh, Mr. Ram Hari Poudel and Mr. Dambar Bikel.

As per the results, Aalok Ghimire from Pushpasadan Boarding School won the first position followed by Samyak Koirala from United School in the second position and Divyakumar Sitaula from Global Pathshala in the second and third positions respectively.

Binita Gurung from Nepal APF School and Yangshu Shrestha from Radiant Readers Academy each won the consolation position.

The winners were honoured with the trophies, medal and certificate by the Chief Guest and Vice-principal. In the same trait all the contestants were also honoured with Certificate of Participation.

 

The moderators of the programme were Yukti Sharma- Grade IX 'E', Anushuya Dhungana – Grade IX 'G' and Dikshit Babu Acharya – Grade IX 'B'.
